This year's first game is D-Day 2007, which will run from 13th January 2007 to 20th January 2007. The outline idea for the game is to prepare the Allied landings in weeks before the game with
the Command team initially and then Divisional players, so that the Allies have a firm idea of a plan. There will be a deal of intelligence and maps of the initial terrain. We will then aim to play a series of two-day
games, simulating D-Day and D+1, and at least two other periods of time over the next 8 weeks of arrivals for both sides. In the evenings between games, the command teams will be planning the resources available for the
next two-day game. So as the first game is played on Sunday and Monday, the Sunday night will be spent resolving supply and troop movement to allow for either side to seize the initiative and launch operational
offensives.
There will be outline maps available for the type of terrain in various areas to allow command teams to look at the ground, and not launch offensives into the void.
The D-day and D+1 game will be a
continuous table. The following games will aim to be 3 or 4 large games.
